Tricia Aguirre

Tricia Aguirre is a bond paralegal with more than 16 years of experience in the legal field. At KMTG, she works with the public finance and business law groups, performing bond and corporate work for public and private sector clients.

Experience

A typical day for Tricia involves working on several complex bond deals for school districts, water agencies and other public entities ensuring all steps are completed and deadlines are met. She also provides legal support in the corporate area, assisting with the business formation process and legal document preparation for private industry clients that include wineries, restaurants and non-profits.

Tricia's bond paralegal activities include:

  • Assisting attorneys with the drafting of documentation for financing transactions

  • Tracking, calendaring, and keeping attorneys and clients apprised of financing schedule deadlines
  • Preparing, organizing, and filing closing documents
  • Obtaining documentation and signatures from clients
  • Drafting and filing required reporting documents with various governmental agencies

Her corporate work includes:

  • Assisting with the formation process for businesses and nonprofits, including name reservation, secretary of state filings, and preparation of organizational documents

  • Preparing business agreements including lease, buy-sell, and non-compete agreements

Working for Clients

  • Client interface is a critical part of her work, especially with bond matters. Tricia often meets in person with directors of finance, school superintendents, and others to make sure documents are delivered, understood, and signatures are collected. She enjoys high client contact and, in turn, knows clients appreciate her friendly yet professional demeanor, consistent follow-up and teamwork approach in helping them achieve their funding goals.
  • Tricia enjoys helping navigate people through starting up a business. Many clients are unsure of what formal steps they need to take to start their business. She assists the attorneys with educating clients on the process and files appropriate paperwork with the Secretary of State and tax authorities. This allows clients to concentrate on what they do best — running their business.

Outside of Work

When she's not at work, Tricia is bicycling, working out at the gym, attending both theatrical and musical concerts or spending time with her son and friends. For down-time, she avidly reads and listens to music, including jazz and opera.

Tricia is a current member of the Sacramento Valley Paralegal Association, National Association of Bond Lawyers, and the National Notary Association.
