Workhop Overview:

How to gain the public's confidence, both before and after a school bond election. This workshop will focus on successful pre-election efforts such as a district’s information survey process and the efforts of a campaign committee. Also discussed will be the role of the citizen’s bond oversight committee and its relationship with the district and school board. How can the oversight committee fulfill its role while at the same time becoming an advocate for school projects and the district’s facility program? Are efforts to include the committee in the review and oversight of ongoing construction projects a method to build trust and confidence that leads to positive reputation building? The public’s perception of a district’s facility program has a direct impact on the success of the program as well as the ability to achieve success at future bond elections. Positive messages from oversight committee members may go a long way in spreading goodwill in the greater community, goodwill that will enhance the goals and objectives of the district.
