Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard (KMTG) is pleased to announce that Brett L. Price, KMTG shareholder and long time Bakersfield resident, has been elected to serve as the President of the Kern County Bar Association (KCBA) for the 2011 calendar year. As President, Price will serve the Kern County legal community in a leadership capacity for the ensuing year, and act as the KCBA’s principle liaison with the Courts and the Kern County community. Price will be installed at the Bar’s 2011 installation dinner on January 27, 2010 at Seven Oaks Country Club.

The Kern County Bar Association provides a forum for lawyers to interact with other professionals in their field and help serve the legal interests of the community. In addition to its strong ties to supporting the community through various programs, such as the GBLA Volunteer Attorney Program (VAP), which recruits and trains volunteer attorneys - from all practice areas - to provide free legal assistance to low-income clients, KCBA offers members access to a variety of resources and programs designed to enhance their practice and their professional development. Price has more than three decades of legal experience representing governmental entities, public and private companies, and individuals in the areas of property tax law and civil litigation, commercial and business law, oil and gas law, construction law, real estate, and bankruptcy matters. Currently, a significant portion of his practice focuses on complex litigation involving the evaluation and taxation of energy resource and industrial/commercial properties, and matters involving the collection, allocation and distribution of taxes among public agencies. In this area, he primarily represents counties and a select number of municipalities and special districts. He also continues to provide litigation services for private sector clients in the areas of real estate, construction, general business and commercial matters, and bankruptcy.
