Sacramento | June 5, 2014

On June 2, 2014, Kronick attorney Rebecca Akroyd was honored to volunteer as an ambassador for the Dream Foundation to give a Coast Guard veteran his final wish. Through the Dream Foundation, Ms. Akroyd participated in the presentation of granting 87-year-old Sacramento resident Milton Hunter’s dream, which was a trip to Seattle to relive and share memories of visits with his late wife with their daughter in hopes that it would help bring her some peace. Milton Hunter is battling lung cancer and has received a prognosis of fewer than three months.  “I feel lucky to have witnessed Milton and his daughter receiving their dream package, and to have met Milton and his loving family,” said Ms. Akroyd.  “I am proud to have been a small part of their day, and am excited at the prospect of partnering with the Dream Foundation in the future.”

The Dream Foundation is the first and largest national organization for adults that enhances the quality of life for individuals and their families battling life-threatening illness. Dream recipients are those individuals who have been given a year or less life expectancy. Dreams range from basic need items, like a working stove, to bedside reunions and meaningful experiences with children and loved ones.
