Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard Celebrates 50 Year Anniversary

On June 11th, Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard (“KMTG”) celebrated its 50 year anniversary with clients, friends and staff at the historic California Museum in Downtown Sacramento.

Nearly 300 attendees enjoyed speeches from original founders Stanley Kronick and Edward Tiedemann, who spoke of the firm’s clients, history, and successes over the past 50 years.

Stanley Kronick spoke of how he and Adolph Moskovitz first met in 1950 when they shared an office as staff attorneys for the Regional Counsels Office of the Bureau of Reclamation, where they formulated a water allocation plan that reversed California’s water policy and became the basis for the water and hydroelectric projects implemented by then-Governor Edmund G. “Pat” Brown.

During his speech he also gave a special tribute to co-founder and dear friend, Adolph Moskovitz (1923-1996), who is remembered as one of the leading water resources attorneys in the country. Stanley and Adolph’s vision of a diversified regional law practice that is dedicated to helping clients succeed, continues to be the focus and foundation of KMTG today.

Ed Tiedemann spoke of the three main factors attributing to the firm’s success, which are loyal clients, great attorneys and dedicated staff. Ed was surprised and honored during the event by long time client and friend Placer County Water Agency (PCWA), who presented him with a commemorative photo history illustrating his 50 years of leadership and counsel to PCWA. PCWA holds the distinction of being the firm’s first client back in 1959.

Managing Shareholder Addison Covert served as the evening’s Master of Ceremonies, and spoke of the firm’s current successes and plans for the future. Addison gave special tribute to the growth and diversity of the firm’s legal practice and its expansion over the past 50 years, and how the firm has played an integral role in many of the significant matters that continue to shape and define California’s legal landscape.
