Kronick Legal Team Assists Santa Clara Unified School District with Sizable Property Acquisition in Silicon Valley

Sacramento | July 9, 2014

Kronick is pleased to announce the successful acquisition by its client, Santa Clara Unified School District, of 54 acres of property in the heart of the Silicon Valley from the Department of General Services. The parcel, located on the site of former Agnew Developmental Center, represents one of the last large scale developable pieces of property remaining in the North San Jose area.  Plans for the site include a high school and a K-8 school to accommodate students from the thousands of homes being constructed in the burgeoning North San Jose area.  The District envisions the schools will focus on technology and science, benefiting from partnerships the District hopes to forge with high-tech firms in the region.

The District, in a partnership with the City of San Jose, worked to purchase the 81-acre property. The City’s portion will be used as a park.

The Kronick team was led by shareholder Constantine Baranoff and included shareholders Mona Ebrahimi, Amara Harrell, and Jeff Mitchell.

"We are proud to have worked with District staff in bringing this transaction to a successful close and look forward to the planned project being an integral piece of the community," said Baranoff.
