Sacramento, CA | September 21, 2007

Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard (KMTG) shareholder, Laura Izon Powell, was named one of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women in the U.S. by the Filipina Women’s Network (FWN). The FWN is the non-profit association for women of Philippine ancestry in the U.S.

This nationwide list of the 100 Most Influential Filipina Women was created to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Filipino presence in America. The nominees will be honored at a special awards event during the 5th Annual Filipina Summit in Washington D.C. on October 25-27, in which Izon Powell said she is very excited to attend. The Annual Filipina Summit is held conjunction with Filipino Heritage Month.

Izon Powell was nominated in the “Builders & Emerging Leaders” category, recognizing Filipina women who are making their mark in a workplace environment, displaying high energy and skill in a leadership role. In December 2006, Mrs. Izon Powell made a monumental mark on the legal profession when she was unanimously approved by KMTG shareholders to become the first part-time shareholder at the firm. She is one of only two lawyers at large Sacramento-area law firms to be advanced to shareholder while working part-time.

Izon Powell has been practicing employment and labor law for over a decade and with KMTG since January 2002.
