The Power of 10! An Anniversary Party

Saturday, October 14th, 2006 marks the date of a community event not to be missed! The Sacramento Crisis Nurseries is celebrating their 10-year anniversary of aiding and caring for Sacramento’s most vulnerable tiny citizens – children ages 0 to 5. The Power of 10! will boast an evening of unforgettable magic and excitement, with all proceeds going directly to the Crisis Nurseries so that they can continue making a lifetime of difference to children most in need.

Sacramento Crisis Nurseries

KMTG is a strong believer in giving back to the community, and our sponsorship of the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries provides us with the opportunity to lend our support to such a great organization that serves not only the smallest members of our community, but their families, who may be going through stressful periods in their lives, or struggling with substance abuse, severe mental health problems, poverty, and homelessness. Respite relief is also provided to grandparents and other family members who have assumed the responsibility of caring for young children in crisis situations.

In addition to providing a stable environment for children ages 0-5 who have been victims of abuse or neglect, the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries works closely with Child Protective Services to provide emergency foster placement, allowing caseworkers the time to search for safe long-term placements.

With the tremendous volunteer and financial support of The Friends of the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries, the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries program has become a national model for its efforts to prevent child abuse. In the past 10 years, the Sacramento Crisis Nurseries managed to provide support to over 1247 families in crisis, and provided 9761 safe bed nights for children.
