KMTG Hires Top Executive
Kronick Moskovitz Tiedemann & Girard, one of Sacramento’s oldest and largest law firms, has hired a new Chief Operating Officer.
John Boyd, an attorney and business management expert, has been hired by the firm to fill the vacancy left by the departure of the firm’s previous COO over one year ago. Boyd joined Kronick on September 1.
“John brings us a strong record of effective business management and experience in developing strategic business opportunities,” said Addison Covert, Managing Shareholder of the firm. “That’s exactly what we’d been looking for in a new executive leader. John will help us continue to grow and diversify our services to serve our current clients and add new clients. We’re very excited to have him.”
Boyd most recently was a law firm consultant providing advice on strategy development and implementation, attorney recruiting and law firm economics, while also serving as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Colorado Law School.
Prior to opening his own consulting business, Boyd was Executive Director of Winthrop Stimson, a global law firm based in New York, and was instrumental in the merger of Winthrop Stimson with Pillsbury Madison and Sutro (which became Pillsbury Winthrop). He also served as Administrative Partner of Andrews Kurth, a 300 attorney Houston, Texas-based firm with seven national and international offices.
Boyd said he decided to join Kronick because of the breadth of the firm’s practices, strategic opportunities, and the people. “In the final analysis, it comes down to the people you are working with and Kronick has an excellent group of attorneys and managers.”
