California School Boards Association 2011 Annual Education Conference and Tradeshow
[December 1-3, 2011 | San Diego, CA]

Overview:

This clinic will be presented in three parts, an update on current collective bargaining issues, a panel discussion on the impasse process in California, and a case study of one district's experience in the impasse process. The collective bargaining issues update will be led by an experienced negotiator. The impasse process panel will focus on preparation, the hearing, the report, and post-fact finding mediation. Finally, we will use a real case-study to demonstrate the value of making bold proposals and holding firm through the negotiations process to get contract language that furthers the educational progress. We will give practical advice and suggest how to turn the tide during negotiations that are intended to improve educational opportunities for students as well as deal with financial issues in this session that you won’t want to miss.
