Presentation Overview:

The sharp increase in the amount of electronic communication and new technology utilized in the modern workplace has placed even greater importance on the implementation of electronic document retention policies and effective electronic discovery during litigation. This panel will present tips and strategies to prepare for litigation by implementing effective retention policies and managing electronic documents. This panel will also cover the unique challenges presented by electronic discovery requests, complying with preservation obligations, managing the meet-and-confer process, reviewing and producing electronic data, and cost-shifting considerations. This information session will discuss electronic discovery and retention under both California and federal law.
