Workshop Overview:

Because property is a critical asset for Local Education Agencies (LEAs), this workshop will focus on state requirements, options, and best practices for acquiring school property, management and use of school property, and the sale of surplus school property.  Specifically, this workshop will include presentations on these critical aspects of successful school property and asset management, including the Department of Education's (CDE) site selection process, joint-use agreements, and new legislation that makes changes to the Naylor Act.  The workshop will conclude with a case study that involves creative use of district options for site acquisition.
