Municipal Attorney (3+ years experience)

We are seeking an attorney to join our team! The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of experience in general municipal law, with an interest in working on both transactional and litigation matters. Candidate must be highly motivated, self-sufficient, and have a high level of dedication and discipline. Our firm takes a flexible approach to compensation that is tailored to each attorney’s unique ability to contribute to the success of our clients and firm—not lock-step according to J.D. or Bar date. The range for this position is $125,000 to $185,000 for an expected 1750 evaluation hours, plus hours bonuses and discretionary bonuses for exceptional performance. The desired candidate should have significant experience in all of the following areas:

  • Open government (Brown Act, Conflicts of Interest, Public Records Act).
  • Experience and genuine interest in construction and other contracting matters would be a real plus.
  • Strong writing and oral skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work autonomously.
  • Ability to instill confidence in clients.

Natural Resources Attorney (3-7 years experience)

We are looking for a 3-7 year Associate Attorney who wants to work on cutting-edge water and environmental law issues for public- and private-sector clients throughout California. The candidate should have experience in relevant practice areas, like water resources, environmental, land use, or Tribal law experience. Candidate must be a quick study, resourceful, and self-sufficient, with a high level of organization, attention to detail, and strong legal analysis and writing skills. Our firm takes a flexible approach to compensation that is tailored to each attorney’s unique ability to contribute to the success of our clients and firm—not lock-step according to J.D. or Bar date. The range for this position is $125,000 to $185,000 for an expected 1750 evaluation hours, plus hours bonuses and discretionary bonuses for exceptional performance. Candidate must possess the requisite knowledge, skills, and capability to accomplish the essential duties and responsibilities of the position:

  • 3-7 years of water, land use, environmental, or Tribal law experience
  • Strong analytical and writing skills and relevant academic coursework or work experience
  • Ability to effectively work as a team member in a fast-paced environment
  • Litigation experience a plus
  • Admitted to the California State Bar
